The Youth Tackle Football Program returned to new heights in 2023 after a three-year hiatus due to COVID-19 and Hurricane Ida. Our St. Charles Parish Parks and Recreation Tackle Football program prioritizes the well-being of young athletes built upon the foundation of safe techniques and skill development. Our program provides well-maintained equipment and practice fields, and games are scheduled to be played at Destrehan High School and Hahnville High School. 

Our team strictly enforces rules that prioritize player safety, and our league focuses on teaching the fundamentals of football, teamwork and sportsmanship.

Registration Information

Registration: May 15 - June 10
Late Registration (additional fees): June 11 - June 15
Parents/Guardians must register participants with their local booster club.

Cutoff Date: August 1

Season will take place from August - October

General Information

During equipment fitting, which will take place prior to the season start all players must weigh in and have a photo taken by the St. Charles Parish Department of Parks and Recreation. 

The Department of Parks and Recreation will provide helmets and should pads only. In the event, equipment cannot be issued to an athlete, parents will be responsible for seeking out other styles of helmets or shoulder pads. Those helmets or shoulder pads must be approved by Parks and Recreation prior to the first game. 

Parents are responsible for the following required equipment: protective girdle, chin strap and mouthguard. 

Optional player equipment includes visors, back plates, rib protectors, etc.
