Summer Camps & Clinics

Garden Mini-Camp

Camp Description: Caring Strategies Partners with St. Charles Parish Department of Parks and Recreation

Kids love pizza and an easy way to get them to love gardening is by growing a pizza garden. It is a garden where herbs and vegetables commonly found on pizza are grown.

This camp is a good project to get your kids involved with their food. It allows them to get dirty (a BIG PLUS if you asked them), teaches them how food is grown, and encourages them to try and taste new foods. Hands-on investigations and garden explorations will spark their imagination as they plant their own pizza garden to take home. The camp will integrate critical thinking and problem-solving as we do garden projects in science, math, art, and cooking. It's also a great summer social with new friends!
