SPILLWAY CAMPING PERMIT APPLICATION

RESTRICTIONS, GUIDELINES, AND STIPULATIONS:

• Failure to have proper permit may result in a criminal violation punishable by a fine or prison or both.
• This permit is valid only for the St. Charles Parish Parks and Recreation site, which consists of and is limited to 26 acres. The remaining acreage of the Spillway is in the direct control of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. If you have any activities planned outside of the parish site, you must have the prior approval of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
• You should be aware that this facility is unmanned. There are no lifeguards or other parish personnel on duty at this location. This is a rural and undeveloped area. Swimming and diving are prohibited. You may encounter shallow water, underwater obstacles and dangerous reptiles such as alligators and venomous snakes. Proper precautions should be taken.
• Vehicle camping will NOT be permitted. Camping must be by way of Tent, Overlanding, Recreational Vehicle (RV), or Camper Trailer.
• NO CAMPING IS PERMITTED WITHIN THE RESTRICTED AREA AROUND THE PAVILION.
• Permits are only issued Monday - Thursday from 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
• A copy of your driver's license MUST be received before an approval is granted for campsite use. Please submit a copy of your driver's license or picture ID with this form by attaching a file. This field may be found near the bottom of the form. An e-mail will be sent to you once your permit is approved. Once you receive an email confirmation you can print the confirmation out and keep it with you at all times during your stay at the campground.
• Campsite Fee: $10.00 per day (starting July 1st, 2023)
• Campsite check-in is at 1 p.m.

• Campsite check-out is at 11 a.m. on the day of the permit expiration.
