Veterans Memorial Plaza

The Veterans Memorial Plaza opened in April 2023. Adjacent to the Edward A. Dufresne Community Center and the future site of the West Bank Spray Park, Veterans Memorial Plaza gives residents a place to pay respect to all veterans, especially those from St. Charles Parish.

There are monuments dedicated to five of the military's branches: Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force and Cost Guard. The Veterans Memorial Plaza is also home to the state's second Gold Star Families Memorial Monument, which was generously donated by The Hue Family.

Additionally, there is the Purple Heart Memorial, which honors those who were gravely wounded in service, and the POW/MIA monument, which allows visitors to remember prisoners of war and those missing in action.

The Veterans Memorial Plaza also serves as the gathering place by VFW Post 3750 for Memorial Day and Veterans Day services.
