The St. Charles Parish Parks and Recreation Department will open registration for 2012 spring baseball and softball registration and Challenger tee-ball program Jan. 19.
Parents can register their children at the Parks and Recreation Department office at 171 Keller St. in Hahnville. The office is open 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Boys and girls ages 5 through 18 are eligible to play this season. The date used to determine age is Jan. 1 for girls and April 30 for boys.
The East Bank Booster Clubs will hold a registration night from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Feb. 7 at the Harry Hurst Middle School Cafeteria in Destrehan. The West Bank Booster Clubs' registration night will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Feb. 8 at the Landry Alternative School Gym in Hahnville.
Parents who would like to register their child online can visit the St. Charles Parish Recreation Registrar. Destrehan residents can use the Destrehan Booster Club's Registrar.
Booster Clubs fees of $60 will be collected the day of the registration.
The last day to register a child will be February 24, 2012.
Children ages 9 through 14 will have the following scheduled evaluation tryout days:
GIRLS AGES 9 THROUGH 14 - MARCH 3 - EAST BANK BRIDGE PARK
- 9-10 Girls - 10 a.m. - 11 a.m.
- 11-12 Girls - 11 a.m. - noon
- 13-14 Girls - Noon - 1 p.m.
BOYS 9 THROUGH 12 - MARCH 7 - WEST BANK BRIDGE PARK
- 9-10 Boys - 5:30 p.m. on field 2
- 11-12 Boys - 6 p.m. on field 1
BOYS 13 AND 14 - 5:30 PM - MARCH 7 - EAST BANK BRIDGE PARK
